Through My (Contact) Lenses - Itachuna Rajbari # 3

Early morning walk in the village...meet the post master General!!

A small village temple

Hand pumps are still being used for drinking water.

My infantryman takes no chances.....you must wear on the right boots...so what if you're not walking through fields....

As the sun slowly rises....

.....against a stunning backdrop!

An intricate locally made 'alpona' makes a beautiful center piece in the temple complex.

Rain bearing clouds scattered in the sky...

Enjoying the early morning flute recital outside our room.

We stayed in "Thakurmar Ghar", the room where the matriarch resided... that's Thakurma...

Brass "ickmic cooker"...where food was cooked slowly over charcoal in a large brass Tiffin carrier..

...The tiffin carrier inside the cooker.

Symptous breakfast....phulko luchi, brinjal fritters, potato curry and locally made fresh sandesh....

.....can't wait to attack!!
