Through My (Contact) Lenses - Itachuna Rajbari # 2

The Reception area, ideally decorated with locally made crafts.
The entrance to the inner complex...the entire complex
was renovated in the 1800s...

Selfie time during a stroll in the garden.

A double hibiscus... aptly named "jhumka jaba"... "jaba" is the Bengali name for hibiscus.

The office wing of the Rajbari complex makes a beautiful backdrop as we watch the sun setting in the western horizon, from the large terrace.

The temple complex lit up just before the evening arati.

View from the temple

The stairway to the dining room complex

One of the dining rooms

Dinner served in shining kansa thali and katoris...roti, fried potato, channa dal, sweet & sour pumpkin, raw banana koftas, sweet mango chutney, hot and sofffft locally made rosogollas....

.....and the chicken curry that was served separately.... delicious, lightly spiced, succulent chicken pieces with the customary potatoes, in a light gravy....

The living area with the dining rooms....clicks of a post dinner walk to settle all that food !!!

The temple complex again.

Now this is interesting.... Bengali words aptly illustrated....those who can read Bangla, enjoy!
